Who we are

Lamplight (listed on the App Store as Lamplight Art Jigsaw) is an art jigsaw game for iPhone and iPad, made by an independent developer. This policy explains what information the app handles and what it does not.

Information we do not collect

Lamplight has no user accounts and no registration. We do not collect your name, email address, location, contacts, photos, or any other personal information. The app contains no analytics software, does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA), never asks permission to track you, and does not track you across other apps or websites. (See Advertising below for what Google receives when an advert is shown.)

What stays on your device

The app saves your progress so your gallery is yours to keep: which paintings you have restored, the puzzle you have in progress, your settings (such as appearance and sound), and small thumbnail images of finished paintings. All of this is stored only on your device. It is included in your normal device backup (iCloud or computer), which means your gallery survives a new phone — but it is your backup, under your control, and it never passes through any server of ours. We have no server.

You can erase all of it at any time with Reset in the app's settings, or by deleting the app.

The paintings

The artworks in Lamplight are in the public domain and are downloaded from Wikimedia Commons, a project of the Wikimedia Foundation. When the app fetches a painting, Wikimedia's servers receive the standard technical information involved in any internet request, such as your IP address. This is the same as visiting their website, and is governed by the Wikimedia Foundation privacy policy. Once fetched, paintings are cached on your device so the app works offline.

Purchases

Lamplight Plus is an optional subscription sold through Apple's App Store. The entire payment is handled by Apple; we never see or store your payment details, billing address, or Apple ID. The app learns only one thing from Apple: whether your device holds an active subscription, so it can unlock the paintings you have paid for. You can manage or cancel the subscription at any time in your Apple account settings, and restore it on a new device with Restore a purchase.

Advertising

The free version of Lamplight shows a small number of adverts; a Lamplight Plus subscription removes all of them. Adverts are served by Google AdMob, a service of Google LLC.

Every advert request the app makes is flagged non-personalised. The app never uses the advertising identifier (IDFA), never asks permission to track you, and does not track you across other apps or websites. Adverts are chosen from context — such as the app itself and your general region — not from a profile of you.

To serve and measure adverts, Google receives the standard technical information involved in any internet request, such as your IP address and basic information about your device, and records how adverts perform (for example, whether an advert was shown or tapped). Google's handling of this information is governed by the Google privacy policy; Google also explains its use of information from apps that use its services at How Google uses information.

Where the law requires it — for example in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland — the app shows Google's consent form before any advert is requested, and respects your choice. Declining never costs you any part of the game.

Children

Lamplight is suitable for all ages. Because the app collects no personal information from anyone, it collects none from children — and adverts in the free version are always non-personalised, for everyone.

Changes to this policy

If the app's behaviour changes in a way that affects your privacy, this page will be updated before that version ships, and the effective date above will change. Meaningful changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
